I hear so many people discussing their quest for happiness and it bothers me. They’re chasing after something that they will never capture.
When we talk about “having happiness”, we are talking of having things that will make us happy. We’re saying when I get the house, the money, the job, the lover, the _____ (you fill in the blank) I will be happy. We are handing our ability to be happy over to a physical thing over which we have not power.
Wayne Dyer discusses the way we go thru our lives hoping that when we arrive at the next stage will as if by magic become happy. In grade school we say when I get to high school then I will have it. After that it is when I am in college it will be so good. Then it is when I get that first job I will have happiness. It is just a procession of attempting to catch the next thing to “make” us happy.
It’s never an outside thing that will make me happy. I will never be “struck happy”. I must be happy inside first. I need to be comfortable in my own skin before I can be comfortable in the world around me. When that happens, once I have that base degree of happiness, then outside things may contribute to my degree of happiness.
This understanding is something that we all have to gain individually. It’s not something that someone else can give to us. It’s something that comes as the result of going through life.
As a parent, I’d love to be able to hand this knowledge to my children so that they do not have to gain it by going thru the rough times of life. It is very hard watching them have to go thru the trials and tribulations to get to the other side.
But, that’s the only way that we learn, by going thru the incident, by being present and experiencing life.
The dictionary defines experience as: 1. a particular instance of personally encountering or undergoing something: My encounter with the bear in the woods was a frightening experience. 2. the process or fact of personally observing, encountering, or undergoing something: business experience. 3. the observing, encountering, or undergoing of things generally as they occur in the course of time: to learn from experience; the range of human experience. 4. knowledge or practical wisdom gained from what one has observed, encountered, or undergone: a man of experience. 5. Philosophy. the totality of the cognitions given by perception; all that is perceived, understood, and remembered.
It is developed by examining the chapters of my life as I go thru them.
My life is as good as I allow it to be. When I make the decision to be happy, I can be happy. Then the the people, places and things that I experience will not create my happiness. These things will become attributes of my happiness, not the definition.

Looking for a way to bring smiles to your family’s faces? Aromatherapy offers many wonderful means of naturally uplifting the emotions, and one of the favorites is Bergamot essential oil. Its bright, sweet and tart aroma is loved by all ages. The oil is gently pressed from the rinds of Bergamot fruit, and is widely available in an organic variety. The oil is exceptionally safe, and can be used in diffusers, or worn as a natural perfume (as has been done for many centuries). Here we’ll have a brief look at the history of Bergamot’s use, and some practical applications for its use for you and your family.
Originating in tropical Asia, the Bergamot tree is now widely grown in Italy, as well as the Ivory Coast, Guinea, Morocco, and Corsica. Bergamot is named after the Italian city of Bergamo in Lombardy, where the essential oil was first sold for perfumery. The fruit is not edible as the pulp is too sour, resulting in the Bergamot tree being primarily cultivated for its essential oils. It is one of the most popular essential oils used in perfumery – approximately one third of men’s colognes contain Bergamot, and nearly one half of women’s perfumes. Bergamot imparts the characteristic flavor to Earl Grey tea, and is used as a flavoring agent in pastries, root-beer, chewing gum, and toothpastes.
Fresh Bergamot essential oil has nearly 300 compounds: mainly linalyl acetate (30-60 %), linaool (11-22%) and other alcohols, sequiterpenes, terpenes, alkalines, and furocoumarins (including bergapten 0.30-0.39%). Certain furocourmarins, notably bergapten, have been found to be photosensitizing (causing an increased sensitivity to ultraviolet rays), hence Bergamot should not be heavily used on skin that will be significantly exposed to sunlight in the following 72 hours. A ‘bergapten-free’ partially-refined variety is available, and is an excellent choice for massage and skin care formulas.
Bergamot is an excellent antiseptic for use in cases of acne, oily skin, and infected skin. As a natural toner and detoxifier, Bergamot may help to prevent premature aging of the dermis. Bergamot oil is noted to have a slightly irritating effect on the skin in high concentrations, but the opposite healing effects occur when the oil is used at low concentrations (1% or less in carrier oil). Bergamot’s general deodorizing effects derive from its antiseptic properties, which are also effective against bladder and urinary infections. Adding 3- 4 drops of Bergamot to warm water bath can help bring relief to the early stages of urinary tract infections.
Bergamot essential oil is foremost a miraculous neuro-tonic, and a powerful helper against depression caused by fatigue or unreleased tensions and frustrations. Aromatic massage with the oil is naturally indicated for those with poor circulation, heart palpitations, hypertension, and general stress related dis-ease. Depression due to the stagnation of life-force energy is often the result of accumulated stress and repressed emotions of grief, frustration or anger. A protective oil by nature, Bergamot is indicated whenever the flow of natural energy is disrupted, leading to imbalanced states such as irritability, anxiety, and sleep disturbances. Bergamot encourages the release of repressed and inhibited feelings, thus helping to release and decompress. The sparkling and yet gentle floral scent gives the oil a sedative yet uplifting quality with the primary effects being calming, balancing centering and clarifying.
Bergamot is further indicated where anxiety and stress related symptoms present as a loss or change in appetite. Bergamot’s antidepressant properties and its regulatory effect on appetite offer assistance when used in cases of eating imbalances such as anorexia, emotional eating, and bulimia. A natural carminative, digestive aid and antispasmodic make Bergamot effective in instances of colic as well as helping to reduce gas in the intestines. Bergamot may be used by itself, or in a recipe with other digestive supporting oils like Roman Chamomile, Coriander Seed and Sweet Fennel; an excellent technique is to gently massage a low-dilution formula into the abdomen.
That Bergamot essential oil has found its way into our lives in forms that we inhale, splash on ourselves, and even eat is no mistake. Its most most important and enticing application may be that of the natural mood-enhancer; the yellow-green color of the oil hints to its affinity to the heart and solar plexus, where many of us are challenged to remain open. It is the opening of the heart and a fluid allowing of the emotions that lies at the center of our healing journeys. Using Bergamot through all primary aromatherapy techniques can assist in this process, opening us to freedom and joys in our everyday lives.
Bergamot essential oil blends well with Chamomile, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Orange, Neroli, Tangerine, and Ylang Ylang essential oils. Bergamot can be used by means of bath, compresses, massage, or inhalation. Blends utilizing the Bergamot essential oil’s uplifting and releasing effects are recommended as follows: To release aggravation and pressure – 2 parts Roman Chamomile, 2 parts Bergamot and 2 parts Sweet Orange. To overcome nervousness and agitation – 3 parts Lavender, 2 parts Neroli and 1 part Bergamot. When frustrated and negative – 3 parts Bergamot, 2 parts Sweet Orange and 1 part Neroli. To enhance relaxation and self-confidence – 2 parts Lavender and 1 part Bergamot. Feeling bitter and brooding – 2 parts Roman Chamomile, 2 Parts Bergamot and 2 parts Helichrysum. Blend equal parts Tangerine and Lemon and/or Orange. These blends may be used in a diffuser, or diluted to 3% total concentration in one or more carrier oils for a wonderful aromatherapy massage.

Emotional and physical symptoms are part of a panic attack which is just another part of an anxiety disorder. Of all the medical problems a person can have, a panic attack is probably one of the most intrusive. Scientists have discovered that a gene dubbed DUP25 is carried by many people who suffer from panic attacks. The purpose of this article is to highlight that there are always options when dealing with panic attacks.
You will have an advantage if you know what to look for if an attack is imminent and what to do about it. Chest pains and problems breathing are symptoms that panic attack sufferers complain of. You may also suffer dizziness leading to a feeling of panic, a racing heart combined with tingling sensations, obsessive worries and unwanted thoughts, and a feeling of overwhelming fear that something awful is going to happen. The fear cycle feeds itself increasing the effect of the panic attack on the victim.
Many sufferers feel that the chest pains are in indication that there are about to have a heart attack and this often triggers the panic attack. The prescription medication the doctor will supply is based on how often the attacks occur and there severity.
The physical effects the sufferer feels are often followed by the fear that that have lost all sense of reality. Speak to your doctor if any of these symptoms occur. Sometimes it can be the fear of doing something that you haven’t done for a while that sets off a panic attack, when you do not feel confident about carrying out a specific task.
A healthy diet and regular physical exercise are two habits which could help reduce the number of opportunities for a panic attack to occur along with situations which could cause stress. A quick solution is to exploit panic attack medications that are known to reduce your symptoms.
Probably most of the time you will be able to control or stop a panic attack on your own without help but if you have a serious attack then only approved medication supplied by your doctor will be able to help. There are also natural and homeopathic solutions available for panic attacks, anxiety and stress. Other natural remedies to help stop panic attacks are simpler and rely on the use of music, yoga and exercise.
If however, you are looking for a long term solution to your panic attacks it is wise to seek a solution that doesn’t rely on anti-depressants, pills or chemicals.

Many sufferers of anxiety, panic attacks, and panic disorder have tried to control their symptoms with medication, but unfortunately, this is not an ideal solution. For the majority of people, the commonly-prescribed medications don’t fully control symptoms, and side effects ranging from mild to severe are often a problem, and may result in the person having to discontinue the medication.
Physicians who prescribe medication for panic attacks and anxiety disorders will often not take a patients concerns about side-effects seriously or they may deny that what the patient is experiencing is even a possible side-effect of the medication. This may be out of denial on the part of some physicians that what they prescribed could possibly be doing harm, or it may simply be that they feel the side-effects are a good trade-off if the drugs help with the patients panic attacks and anxiety. Either way, many doctors will avoid dealing with patient concerns about side-effects if they can.
The lack of communication about the potential problems of medications between doctors and patients can lead to frustration for many patients. Some sufferers of panic attacks and anxiety wind up giving up hope for a real solution and resolve themselves to tolerating the side effects as best they can in the hopes that the medication will keep their anxiety and panic symptoms to a tolerable level.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are effective methods for handling panic attacks and anxiety without medication. Various self-help and professional counselling techniques allow individuals to prepare for panic attacks, and train them to calm themselves down quickly and effectively. These methods include cognitive therapy, the Sedona Method, Emotional Freedom Technique, and Neuro Linquistic programming (NLP).
Each of these methods has its own unique strengths. While one may work better for a given individual than another, all of them provide tools to help panic attack sufferers to take back control of their minds. The vast majority of people are able to use one or more of these methods to make panic attacks and anxiety a thing of the past.

Although exercise is essential, to stay healthy you need to adopt a healthy diet course of study. If you don’t want to see yourself having those creases on the skin especially on the face just like what most people have, there are quality foods which can fight lines and that you should be conscious of.
1 – Green leafy veggies such as spinach plants contain lutein that maintains the skin’s hydration and elasticity through the important antioxidant mechanism that it gives thus it is a must-have in your everyday consumption. 10mg or about 4oz is the perfect daily intake of this vegetable.
2 – If those that are full of antioxidants are what you are searching for, then beans are just one of them that you can have. Among the various kinds, red beans are the best because they comprise the highest amount of antioxidants that help replace deteriorated collagen of the skin.
3 – Just like beans, tomatoes also have antioxidants, and they too are good for your skin as they likewise contain lycopene. This is a substance that lowers the risk of acquiring cancer and happens to be more potent than Vitamin E supplements which are used to help the skin stay healthy. The best part about taking tomatoes is that you can eat this in concert with pasta, salad or a sandwich.
4 – Veggies are not the only thing that can help prevent creases since another one that is full of Vitamin B is turkey. It also has protein that retards the action in the skin known as cross-linking so don’t wait until Thanksgiving to add this to your diet plan.
5 – Goji berries are full of Vitamin C that will help fight free radicals that harm the skin. You may not trust this but, as compared to oranges, these comprise five hundred times more Vitamin C per ounce. It also comprises quantities of antioxidants such as vitamin B1, B2, B6 and E as well as linoleic acid, an important fat that fattens up the skin making it look suppler and younger.
6 – What is full of 6 oily acids as well as Omega 3 is the thing called linseed. Cookies and bread as well as other dishes can be combined with this. If your skin cells get plumper as you consume this more sometimes, then those wrinkles are more likely to be concealed or prevented.
7 – Beetroot is another vegetable that can help avoid creases as it is low in gram calories and high in roughage. Antioxidants are also contained in this as well as the one that helps collagen output in the skin in the form of a pigment called anthocyanins. You can ready this in a variety of ways such as curried, boiled, roasted and pickled.
8 – Chocolates are usually eaten by numerous of us only as a form of a sweet or simply as a delightful snack. But there are only a couple of us who know that active oxygen in the body can cause aging and a compound known as the polyphenol that is held in these chocolates can help get rid of those. It can also protect us from the other cause of skin aging which is the harm that we can get from the UV rays.
9 – Akin to linseed, salmon can also lower inflammation and may help lubricate the skin since it also comprises Omega 3 fatty acids.
There are other things we can eat apart from the nine cases mentioned to avoid lines from occurring. If you want to know how to effective plan your diet, you should consult with your doctor as he can suggest the one that best fits you or make your own research to equip yourself with the needed facts about it.
Apart from eating, you shouldn’t forget to work out regularly and drink lots of water so your skin stays flexible and hydrated at all times. You shouldn’t drink alcohol or smoke as this also helps the skin stay young and line free.

Few people know this but there is a right way to wash your hair to get it properly clean. And by washing your hair properly will have a great impact on the bounce and shine of you hair. But the chances are very high that you are probably washing you hair all wrong, and consequently not getting the great looking hair that you could have.
Step 1. – To start. Start off by getting your hair brush and use it to brush your hair well before you even start to wash it. Brushing your hair will loosen dirt, prevent hair breakage and keep the number of hairs in the drain to a minimum. After you have brushed, it’s time to get your hair really good and wet. It is hard to wash hair that has not been thoroughly moistened so make sure that you give your hair a good soaking.
Step 2. – Adding shampoo. Something that people often do is to use far too much shampoo when washing their hair. Usually they will just squeeze a good handful into their palm and then begin scrubbing away. This is definitely not the right way to wash your hair. First make sure that you are using very high quality hair care products (using the right product for your hair type) and just add a smallish amount to the palm of your hand.
Step 3. – How to wash your hair properly. Massaging/scrubbing too vigorously and not leaving shampoo on long enough, are the two main mistakes people usually make when washing their hair. After you have applied the shampoo to your hair, the proper way to wash it is too gently massage your hair and scalp. Giving your hair a ‘good scrub’ will not make your hair any cleaner and could damage your scalp. After massaging your scalp, shampoo can be left in your hair for 5 minutes to get a good clean.
Step 4. – Rinse and Repeat. After you have given your hair a proper shampooing, you need to get al the grime, dirt and shampoo lather out of your locks. It’s important that when you rinse your hair, your rinse it properly. There can still be plenty of shampoo left in your hair, even after you think you have rinsed it out. When you have given you hair a thorough rinsing, you can if need be give you hair a second wash. Your hair is clean when it squeaks.
Washing your hair properly can truly make a huge difference to the appearance of your hair. The steps are simple enough, just follow the 4 steps above and you can’t go wrong. You’ll have great clean looking hair every time. And when you use very high quality professional salon hair care products, you will be amazed at just how clean, vibrant and healthy your hair can become.

PMS is a collection of symptoms taking place with a cyclical pattern and related to the menstrual cycle. These symptoms can get in the way with the quality of life of everyone involved. PMS is common among most women. This is an explanation of what it is, what the symptoms are, and a few suggestions that may help ease them.
PMS stands for premenstrual syndrome. It can stand for many other things like potential murder suspect, potty mouth syndrome, people make me sick, provide me sweets, pretty miserable situation or possible munching spree. It is more than just an excuse for women to eat a gallon of chocolate ice cream and be irritable.
PMS is a real medical condition; it usually occurs after ovulation, between 7 to 14 days before menses, usually symptoms vanish either before or after the start of menstrual flow. The exact cause of PMS is not totally understood, the level of estrogen and progesterone fluctuates as well as the level of the brain chemical serotonin.
PMS is a set of hormonal changes that generate a variety of symptoms in women; it is more than just mood swings. There are serious symptoms including bloating, cramps, headaches, fatigue, crying spells, mood swings, back pain, anxiety, swollen and tender breasts, anxiety, acne, fatigue, food cravings, insomnia, depression, headache, muscle aches, and abdominal pain. There are over 150 PMS symptoms and they can be so severe that they are disabling. The symptoms vary in severity from woman to woman and from month to month.
This is not a good time for the woman, man need to understand this and give them lots of space when needed. A gentle massage and understanding can diminish the pain and tension during this time. Flowers at the right time can also help.
No one knows for sure what causes the hormonal shift, and there is no sure cure that works for everyone every time. Most women who seek help from their doctor for premenstrual syndrome believe that they are not given helpful treatment options. Lifestyle changes and the right doctor can do wonders.
PMS is not caused by stress or emotions. PMS can make stress, emotions and several other conditions worse.
The best way to approach it is to recognize your individual symptoms. Start a diary; try to identify the things that make you feel worse and what makes you feel better. Try adding new foods and cutting down on the foods that you know you should not eat. Keep track of your symptoms.
A lack in of certain vitamins and minerals may affect the level of the hormones during the menstrual cycle. A typical western diet includes too much processed foods, sugar, food additives and salt. Most of the processed foods are not a good source of vitamins and minerals.
Some believe that PMS is either a lack of certain vitamins and minerals in the diet or deficiencies in the body which can be corrected by a better diet. Many times a change in diet and certain vitamins and minerals have been highly effective. There is no single vitamin or mineral which is appropriate in every case. Which supplements and how much depends on each individual woman.
Caffeine has been shown to amplify premenstrual breast swelling and sensitivity.
Getting adequate B vitamins can help with irritability and fatigue during this time.
Calcium supplements are recommended for reducing cramps and back pain. They are also good for preventing osteoporosis and for bone health. Good calcium sources are baked beans, broccoli, kale, collards, bok choy, Chinese cabbage, fortified soy milk, milk, yogurt, cheese, and supplements. Several fruit juices, fruit drinks, tofu and cereals are calcium-fortified.
Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium. You can obtain vitamin D from food and your body can also make vitamin D when your skin is exposed to sunlight.
Stay away from salt to decrease bloating and fluid retention.
During menstruation many women can get slightly anemic for the short term, taking iron supplements and eating foods high in iron can help with fatigue.
Hormones are very sensitive to diet, exercise, and sleep. Making changes in those areas can make a big difference in the way you feel.
A great place to find help is the Women’s Nutritional Advisory Service. They have the very latest scientifically based non-drug self-help information in helping women overcome their symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, menopause, irritable bowel syndrome, and a whole host of other conditions.
Women’s Nutritional Advisory Service can provide you with a program based on the answers to an extremely comprehensive questionnaire. They will give you a detailed programme of which foods to eat at each meal. Diet sheets and shopping lists are given to make starting easy. This will help you to find out the exact nutritional cause of PMS and then work out a nutritional program to overcome your symptoms.
Nothing in this essay is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Information and statements made are for education purposes and are not intended to replace the advice of your treating doctor.
