People who suffer from migraine headaches feel like this problem is impairing their strength and vitality. Migraine headaches and stress are considered by some to be two sides of the same coin. Still, even now, science does not fully understand migraine, its causes or what can remedy it.
Migraines are considered a disease of the mind but with very real biological effects and are probably hereditary passing from parent to child. Certain steps can be taken prior to a migraine attack that can help reduce the effects as laboratory studies in rats and humans have concluded. Just as in humans, triptan drugs could be administered to the rats at different stages of the migraine attacks. Drugs like this have dual effect as they can help prevent the migraine as well as the frequency of attacks.
Migraine symptoms aren’t just about a throbbing headache along one side of the head but regular sufferers also feel sick, hate light and don’t sleep very well. Although headache is the main head pain it can move and encompass the forehead, eyes and jaw to ear region.
Many migraines are so intense that they incapacitate their victim so they cannot work or carry out any day to day tasks. The Lancet medical journal highlighted a correlation between dairy and wheat foods and a migraine reduction of eighty five percent in sufferers when these foods were avoided. The effect of these dairy and wheat foods may be to tighten the arteries in the brain while at the same time dilating the muscular scalp arteries and this aspect is treated by alternative therapies.
Magnets have also been known to help by stimulating hormones in the body and so because of this action that magnets are believed to be useful in prevention as well as a remedy. One of the first migraine prevention techniques was to increase the amount of riboflavin the migraine victim required as riboflavin is part of the energy producing process for the body and scientists observed that migraine sufferers had faulty energy production in their brain cells.
While natural, alternative and homeopathic migraine remedies are quite popular currently, there is no evidence as yet that they are superior to any other method at preventing attacks, reducing the frequency or that work for a large number of sufferers.
Whatever you do, don’t listen to what worked for someone else because it may not work as well for you. It is worth keeping a diary of when attacks occur, what you were doing or eating so as to give your doctor a clearer picture of what it is that triggers your migraine and therefore what eventually may help to control them.

Have you ever wondered why some children see doctors more frequently, are on antibiotics many times in a years time and yet never seem well?
Simply put, medications are suppressants that dull symptoms without getting to the root cause of a problem. They also compromise the body’s ability to digest foods and ward off the next illness or infection because the intestinal flora is also destroyed, the good body bacteria, everytime medications go in.
Overmedicated children see the world through dull eyes. They may not be able to tell a parent but they are not feeling well even when they are pronounced well. The brief interlude between rounds of drugs is fraught with indigestion, lack of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, dark eyes, and still the sniffles. Why? It is because the foods they eat are not being digested properly and they are literally starving.
First of all colds and influenzas, bacterial or viral, are messages that the body needs rest and is out of balance. That will never be corrected by medication. Medication is a suppressor of the symptoms only. In a tough spot, and on occasion, they are needed. A childs life should not be endangered; however, a parent must be equipped with the internal fortitude, enough fresh juice, Vitamin C and Homeopathic Remedies to carry through the most ordinary of situations: colds, influenza, and allergies.
Its hard to understand the real reason some parents dont trust the innate healing intelligence of the human body. It is enough said that most people are uneducated in this regard. Rest is imperative, and if I can go on record, even from computers and televisions at close range. Those transmissions at close range are detrimental to the immune system. Fresh, hand squeezed, or organic bottled juices are the best thing for sick children. Vitamin C, maybe Ginger, Chamomile or Dandelion & Echinacea tea with stevia or honey will soothe and assist the body to do its job. Sometimes recurring symptoms are a cry for love and attention so give it when a child is sick and again when theyre well.
Have pure herbal oils in the home, castor oil, and packs that can be warmed and placed on an oil pack. Oils can also be dropped in the cool tub water to help bring down a fever. Try to get the fever under control a bit even if youve decided to take the trip to the doctors office. You want to try everything you can to get well with healthy alternatives and a healthy ongoing lifestyle first because your child will be full of wonder at life. Make your home a fortress of health, from water to herbal teas and fresh juices, echinacea, goldenseal, dandelion, vitamin C (always) herbal teas for children, tuck away organic bottled juice (if you don’t juice yourself) and make homemade soups. They will be bright minded and not dull witted. They will have courage and find their own inner strength. They will have faith in life and lifes processes. They will be a success in life. They will be spiritual BEINGS with a healthy intestinal tract.
Every child is different. Some have more energy, others inquisitive, creative, inventive, and then some may be ill. Building the system with fresh fruits and vegetables, getting the mineral and enzyme count up, will help immeasurably. Remember that medication destroys the integrity of the intestinal tract to absorb nutrients and after continued use the child is more depleted and now has candida yeast overgrowth and compromised gut or leaky bowel syndrome. So, if they must be on medication to live, continue your quest for their recovery naturally also.
As every child is unique, every instance is different. If you have a child that needs medications to stay alive then make sure they get probiotics, vitamins and minerals. So often it is the letting go of harmful habits which make the biggest difference. Help your child stay addiction free from: sugars, soda, simpe carbohydrates with no nutritional value, like chips, fries, etc. Remember that everything in nature is colorful, not white. Anything white is dead. So throw out all your white sugars, flours, breads. You’ll feel great about it! And, you’ll raise a family of champions.
