The primary reason a lot of people decide to start working-our regularly is to lose weight and tighten their bellies. A less than solid stomach is a sign of lack of exercise and having a potbelly is one of the most potent confidence busters a person can get.
Most exercise buffs, despite having spent years in the gym or working-out at home are still unsatisfied with their physique. An overwhelming number that don’t see clear results even stop going to the gym- disheartened and bored with their workouts.
Since fat-loss and a lean, well-defined abdomen is the goal of most fitness buffs across the globe, more folks should be doing exercises that maximize movement of the midsection. The more muscles involved in movement, the faster the results and the easier it is to keep stay consistent with one’s workout program.
Developing the center or core of the human body is arguable the best way of forming the contours and striations that give that 6 pack appearance to the abdomen. Conventional workout sessions should be augmented with exercises for the core muscles in order to hasten calorie burn. The more calories burned, the faster the fat loss and abdominal muscles exposed.
An overwhelming number of fitness buffs go about core based exercises the wrong way by focusing just on the abdominal muscles. If the other core muscles (lower back and obliques) are left out, this can throw the body’s balance out of whack and cause back sprain.
Strengthening the abdomen, lower back, and oblique muscles means stabilizing our body’s center, its foundation. A stronger core will give us better balance, flexibility and endurance. It will give extra support for our spine and hence give extra protection against injury.
Because more muscle tissue are involved in movement in doing core exercises, doing these in tandem with aerobic and weight-training will produce significantly faster effects. Isolating body fat for caloric energy and maintaining a high level of metabolism will result in flatter stomach in less time.
True, the proverbial road to 6 pack abs is paved with a lot of sweat, hardship and sacrifice. Knowing which exercises are most effective in eliminating body fat can help speed-up your journey however and get you to your goal of a lean, rippling midsection faster.

The South Beach Diet is a diet well known for being followed by many celebrities and is frequently linked to other low-carb diets, most of which have received considerable bad press.
It is important whilst following the South Beach Diet that you follow the basic rules of the program to ensure that you lose weight and maintain good health. Most importantly, if you want to achieve success, you must make sure you consume the right types and amounts of carbohydrates and fats.
The South Beach diet has been shown to lower cholesterol levels and some claims have even been made that the diet can also reduce the risk of diabetes and heart disease.
Following a weight loss program often results in unwelcome food cravings that are a common side effect of many diets. However, the South Beach Diet is said to avoid this problem because if you stick to the meal plan, you simply dont feel hungry.
It takes a high degree of motivation and determination to follow the South Beach Diet plan in order to succeed with weight loss.
As well as losing weight, learning to eat healthily on the South Beach Diet plan and discovering which are the good carbs and fats, will help you to care for your heart too.
The South Beach Diet is not a low-fat, low carb diet like so many of the other high profile diet fads and whilst on the South Beach Diet you will discover that not all carbohydrates and fats are bad for you.
Incorporating the right proportion and the right types of fats and carbohydrates may seem a little confusing when you start out. However, it is fundamental to the effectiveness of the South Beach Diet program and will ensure that it works for you. You will quickly adjust and soon find that eating this way becomes a way of life.
The initial two weeks of South Beach Diet program is when weight loss of up to13lbs can be expected. After this period, you will find that things slow down but you will continue to steadily lose weight.
It is entirely possible to achieve long-term weight loss, rather than just losing weight in the short term, if you are determined to stick to this healthy eating plan.
Highly effective at ridding your body of unwanted, excess weight, the South Beach Diet plan will also help you maintain general health and well-being.
Working in stages, similar to the Atkins diet, the South Beach Diet program is really more of a lifestyle choice as opposed to just another weight loss diet. The plan will guide you in eating three meals plus two snacks, chosen each day from the simple menu planner provided.
To help you achieve your weight loss goal whilst on the South Beach Diet program you should first write down how much weight you would like to lose. The written goal should then be placed somewhere highly visible so that it can act as a constant reminder of why you are on the diet.
Clearing your kitchen cupboards of all foods forbidden by the South Beach Diet is a good idea. In moments of weakness, there will be nothing in your house to tempt you so you will be more likely to stick to your diet.
Remembering to drink plenty of water is recommended with most diet plans. Not only will water help you to feel more full, it will also help flush away toxins that might be released whilst following the South Beach Diet program.
It is important, regardless of whether you are following a diet program, that you make the time to fit exercise into your schedule. Regular exercise, as well as improving your fitness levels, will help to speed up your weight loss.
Its hard to stay motivated all the time and you may occasionally slip up when on the diet. If this happens, don’t be tempted to give up. The South Beach Diet works so simply pick up where you left off and you’ll soon start to see the weight dropping off once more.
The South Beach diet is followed by celebrities such as Bill and Hilary Clinton and Bette Midler.

If you’re hoping to lose fat, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve tried a lot of methods. Unfortunately, the vast majority of people who are unhappy with their bodies don’t succeed in their fat loss goals. That’s because they’re often using gimmicky weight loss plans that can actually damage their bodies! If you’re in this boat, and you don’t know how to get rid of the fat while staying healthy, here are a few tips that might get you on the right track.
1. Why are you overweight? Do you have a problem with emotional eating? If that’s the case you need to teach yourself to turn to solutions other than food when you have an emotional difficulty. If you are just not eating right, learn how to eat well and nutritiously. Check with your doctor if you suspect a hormonal imbalance. When you find out what is causing you to gain weight, you can go ahead and find a solution that will encourage fat loss.
2. Decide that from now on you control your food intake. Look for a long term healthy diet that will allow you to live a healthy life. Do not let friends and family pressure you into eating something you shouldn’t eat. Do not let restaurant menus or food in your fridge influence what you will be eating. Eat only what you decide you will be eating in order to attain a healthy lifestyle.
3. Eat frequent meals. Skipping meals and eating irregularly can do strange things to your metabolism. Instead of eating a few big meals each day, consume multiple smaller ones. Every two to three hours is usually good timing for most people. Your metabolism will keep working throughout the day, instead of going through a series of ups and downs. Watch out for snack foods, though. Even though they’re high in fat, it can be much better to snack on nuts than it is to grab a sugary, processed treat out of the vending machine.
4. Chew your food well. If you eat slowly and enjoy the taste of your food, you will get more pleasure out of eating. You will also end up eating less because it takes your body some to to register that it is full. If you eat too fast – you will end up eating more before you realize that you are full.
5. Don’t make huge changes. Many fat loss diets want you to eat totally unfamiliar foods or make big changes in your lifestyle. Those are pretty hard to maintain, and can be frustrating. Instead, start out with small, manageable changes in what you’re already doing. Once you’ve been doing them for long enough that they’ve become a habit, you can move to other healthy changes. Never starve yourself – that can actually make matters worse by lowering your metabolism.
6. Stay away from processed food and eat a balanced diet instead. Processed foods are high in sugar and fat, and eating it will make it harder for you to lose weight. Processed food is also unhealthy and can cause heart disease and other health problems. Instead, eat a lot of fruit, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins.
7. Make sure you drink throughout the day. Sometimes when you think you are hungry, you are actually thirsty. Hydrating yourself properly will make you feel full, and will help your body cleanse itself. Water is the best beverage, so make sure to drink as much water as you need.

People now prefer natural anti-inflammatory to treat their health problems. There are also many options for treatment. They are well available online and even at your local health products store.
Listen to the cues of your own body. Keep a diary. Take note when the inflammation occurs. Detail the food intake during that time. Observe the vitamins, prescription drugs, and supplements you are taking. Over a period of two months, you will see a pattern in regards to your inflammation problems. This will help you find out what are the causes of your periodic inflammation. If you are experiencing chronic inflammation, however, you should always seek the care of a physician.
Taking a daily multi-vitamin supplement containing B vitamins and vitamins C, D, and E may not have a proven effect on inflammation. However, by increasing the level of nutrients in the blood, it is always a good start in any treatment. Vitamin supplements also increase the levels of antioxidants to augment the lacking nutrients in the patient’s diet. This actually reverses some of the damaging effects of inflammation.
Bioflavonoids or flavonoids are also what make the natural anti-inflammatory treatment works well. Flavonoids are the chemicals found naturally in plants. Have you ever wondered why some children see doctors more frequently, are on antibiotics many times in a years time and yet never seem well?
Simply put, medications are suppressants that dull symptoms without getting to the root cause of a problem. They also compromise the body’s ability to digest foods and ward off the next illness or infection because the intestinal flora is also destroyed, the good body bacteria, everytime medications go in.
Overmedicated children see the world through dull eyes. They may not be able to tell a parent but they are not feeling well even when they are pronounced well. The brief interlude between rounds of drugs is fraught with indigestion, lack of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, dark eyes, and still the sniffles. Why? It is because the foods they eat are not being digested properly and they are literally starving.
First of all colds and influenzas, bacterial or viral, are messages that the body needs rest and is out of balance. That will never be corrected by medication. Medication is a suppressor of the symptoms only. In a tough spot, and on occasion, they are needed. A childs life should not be endangered; however, a parent must be equipped with the internal fortitude, enough fresh juice, Vitamin C and Homeopathic Remedies to carry through the most ordinary of situations: colds, influenza, and allergies.
Its hard to understand the real reason some parents dont trust the innate healing intelligence of the human body. It is enough said that most people are uneducated in this regard. And lets get real no one wants to see their child sick. Ive raised three and it is a tough call between letting a fever break and calling the doctor; however, a fever is how the body burns out infection. Thats it Internal and Higher Intelligence.
No one but a parent can make the decision between getting to an ER or letting a fever burn itself out; however, vigilance and conscious care should alert when enough is enough in the natural healing arena.
Rest is imperative, and if I can go on record, even from computers and televisions at close range. Those transmissions at close range are detrimental to the immune system. Fresh, hand squeezed, or organic bottled juices are the best thing for sick children. Vitamin C, maybe Ginger, Chamomile or Dandelion & Echinacea tea with stevia or honey will soothe and assist the body to do its job. Sometimes recurring symptoms are a cry for love and attention so give it when a child is sick and again when theyre well.
Have pure herbal oils in the home, castor oil, and packs that can be warmed and placed on an oil pack. Oils can also be dropped in the cool tub water to help bring down a fever. Try to get the fever under control a bit even if youve decided to take the trip to the doctors office. Now that weve covered some warm and cozy alternatives to the habitual running to a doctors office, lets go back to reminders why we want to have the courage to teach children how great their body is designed. Try to get the fever under control a bit even if youve decided to take the trip to the doctors office. Now that weve covered some warm and cozy alternatives to the habitual running to a doctors office, lets go back to reminders why we want to have the courage to teach children how great their body is designed.
You want to try everything you can to get well with healthy alternatives and a healthy ongoing lifestyle first because your child will be full of wonder at life. Make your home a fortress of health, from water to herbal teas and fresh juices, echinacea, goldenseal, dandelion, vitamin C (always) herbal teas for children, tuck away organic bottled juice (if you don’t juice yourself) and make homemade soups. They will be bright minded and not dull witted. They will have courage and find their own inner strength. They will have faith in life and lifes processes. They will be a success in life. They will be spiritual BEINGS with a healthy intestinal tract.
Every child is different. Some have more energy, others inquisitive, creative, inventive, and then some may be ill. Building the system with fresh fruits and vegetables, getting the mineral and enzyme count up, will help immeasurably. Remember that medication destroys the integrity of the intestinal tract to absorb nutrients and after continued use the child is more depleted and now has candida yeast overgrowth and compromised gut or leaky bowel syndrome. So, if they must be on medication to live, continue your quest for their recovery naturally also.
As every child is unique, every instance is different. If you have a child that needs medications to stay alive then make sure they get probiotics, vitamins and minerals. So often it is the letting go of harmful habits which make the biggest difference. Help your child stay addiction free from: sugars, soda, simpe carbohydrates with no nutritional value, like chips, fries, etc. Remember that everything in nature is colorful, not white. Anything white is dead. So throw out all your white sugars, flours, breads. You’ll feel great about it! And, you’ll raise a family of champions.
I am a Nutritionist and Naturopath but I have taken my children and myself to the doctor, only when necessary and not that often. Being balanced is the key. Doctors are necessary and so is thoughtful self care.

Coronary Artery Disease is commonly known as Heart Disease or Atherosclerosis. In coronary artery disease, plaque builds up inside the arteries. These plaques are formed by fats and cause the arteries to harden. The deposits are made of fat that came from the food that we eat. These fat deposits narrow the arteries and impede circulation. The narrowing of the arteries also causes high blood pressure because the body tries to compensate for the inadequate supply of blood throughout the system.
Atheromas are very dangerous because they impede blood circulation to the heart. We all know that the heart is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body. With the heart muscles receiving less oxygen rich blood and increased cardiac workload, they will surely function less and will cause a patient to experience pain. The pain experienced by the patient is medically termed angina.
Angina occurs when the heart doesn’t have enough supply of oxygen for it to function properly. The heart muscles need oxygen for them to function because it is necessary for the energy formation of muscles that it uses for working. Without adequate energy, muscles will fail to work. Angina is described as a painful squeezing feeling in the chest that is also felt in the jaws, extremities and the back.
Usually, after an angina, a possible heart attack is expected. The heart attack happens because of the lack of oxygen supply in the heart muscles causing it to form necrotic tissues. With necrotic tissues present in your heart, it will not be effective anymore in pumping blood throughout your system. Your heart will be tired of pumping ineffectively, causing it to fail. Without prompt treatment, a heart attack will cause death.
Now that you know all about the disease process of coronary artery disease, you should also know what its risk factors are so that you’ll be able to prevent having such a disease. If you have a family history of coronary artery disease, you will have a greater chance of developing it. Smoking can also increase the risk of developing heart disease because nicotine causes blood vessel constriction which further narrows the arteries.
If you are living a sedentary or inactive lifestyle, it is now time to change your ways and to do some serious physical work. A sedentary lifestyle will increase your risk of developing heart disease because without physical activities, your heart muscles will become flabby and weak. You need to do some simple exercises to tone your heart muscles and make it strong.
Those who are overweight need to drop those extra pounds because they are also at risk for developing heart disease. People who are overweight have too much fat in their body which causes their muscles to be weak and not toned. Fats can also form plaque in the arterial walls which causes coronary artery disease. Exercise and proper diet should therefore be their approach to prevent developing heart disease.
Major lifestyle changes have to be made in order to prevent coronary heart disease. Living an active lifestyle is important to maintain good health. Coronary artery disease is a lifetime disease. Medications will be needed for maintenance and prevention of heart attack. Although there are a lot of procedures available to treat heart disease, these are only for management and not cure.

Everyone has heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That is true, but even more important is having a healthy breakfast every day. Eating foods filled with sugar and artificial colors is not going to do anything to get your body off to a good start and get your metabolism going for the day.
What is a healthy breakfast?
Right back to the standby ~ protein and produce. A great breakfast will include each of these, and may include a serving of healthy whole grains, but if you don’t have time, just grab some protein and produce.
Here are some great breakfast protein options:
Nuts
Eggs
Protein Shake
Tofu
Bacon
Ham
Cheese
Peanut Butter
Here are some options for produce:
apple
orange
banana
pears
or any other kind of fruit
broccoli
cauliflower
spinach
any other kind of vegetable
Let’s put it all together!
If you have time to sit down and eat, go ahead and scramble up a couple eggs, add some veggies and cheese. You could also scramble a couple of eggs, add some cheese and slice an apple/orange on the side.
If you are on the run, why not throw it all in the blender. You can throw in frozen fruits, even veggies like spinach (don’t worry the fruit will cover up the flavor, you won’t even know it’s there ~ other than the color) then add some whey protein and blend it all up. If you don’t use frozen fruit add some ice to give it a nice texture. Pour it in a go cup and be on your way!
You could also just grab a cheese stick and an apple and eat it on the way!
There are so many options for a healthy breakfast, it’s really helpful to know what your options are and to keep healthy breakfast foods in the house. Have both kinds of food available, those you can eat sitting down, and on the run. That way you will always have some options.

With all the different diet crazes around it’s sometimes hard to figure out what healthy meals consist of. Do you eat carbs, no carbs, low cal, low fat? It’s all so confusing! Well I have found a very simple way to put together healthy meals. It’s as simple as remembering protein and produce.
When you are trying to put together healthy meals that will keep you healthy and aid you in losing belly fat ~ or any other kind of fat for that matter, you have to have both protein and produce.
The protein will give your body what it needs to hold on to and create muscle. Without protein you will find you lose weight, but some if not a lot of your weight loss will be lean muscle weight. Now I’m not talking about going over the top and eating an all protein diet. I am talking about making sure you have a small portion of protein at each meal. It can be a small piece of chicken or fish, some nuts, a piece of cheese, even a tablespoon of peanut butter. However you do it, you have to have some protein with your meal.
Now on to the produce. This is simple enough, just a small portion of fruits or vegetables. Anything that comes in the fresh food aisle is fair game for this part. You can use frozen or canned produce, but it is absolutely best to use fresh fruits and vegetables as often as you possibly can.
You may have noticed the healthy meal equation does not include a starch. Now this threw me for a loop. I was raised to have meat, and something green (produce) and something yellow (starch) on your plate for every meal. It’s taken me a bit to get over this one, but I realize I am feeling so much better and losing weight with the protein produce equation.
You will have more than enough carbohydrates in your fruits and vegetables, you really don’t need an extra starch on your plate.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying you CAN’T eat all those yummy foods. You can, choose wisely, choose whole grain alternatives. What I am saying is if you are in a pinch, just remember all you need is protein and produce.
It can be something as simple as a turkey sandwich and an apple for lunch. You could have a roasted chicken breast and some broccoli for dinner.
This works out especially well if you are following the concept of eating 6 small meals throughout the day. I had trouble making these meals small. I was having a full meal 6 times a day! Whew, glad I figured that one out! Now snacks consist of a hard boiled egg and a piece of fruit or some nuts and fruit. Small meals through out the day will definitely add to your weight loss, and you will never feel hungry!
So if you are trying to find ways to put together healthy meals, remember two little words, protein and produce!
